Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary Manchester United manager, has accepted a return to coaching from the sidelines after retiring in 2013.

Giuseppe Rossi, former striker of the “Red Devils” Manchester United, confirmed that Sir Alex Ferguson, his former boss, has accepted to coach the team in a special match on March 22. Ferguson, 

83, retired from the position of manager in 2013 after leading Manchester United to many trophies, including 13 English Premier League titles. However, Ferguson has recently accepted to coach the team in a special match in Italy, which is the official farewell match for Giuseppe Rossi, the former Italian national team striker who retired in 2023.

Fans have become accustomed to seeing the 83-year-old watching games from plush seats in the stands but he will taking the manager’s seat once again next month.

Former United striker Giuseppe Rossi will be hosting a farewell match at the Stadio Franchi in Florence on March 22.

“Ferguson will come here to coach,” Rossi, 38, said: “He was my first coach. I signed when I was 17. I was with him for three years and played a little bit, but he accepted me as soon as I sent him an invitation. It shows what kind of person he is.”

Rossi has played for a number of clubs, including Manchester United, Newcastle, Parma, Villarreal, Fiorentina and many others, with his last club being SPAL in his home league.
