Thierry Henry has hailed Kylian Mbappe as a more complete player than Erling Haaland.

Both scored but it was Real Madrid who came from behind to beat Manchester City 3-2 thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Jude Bellingham.

Ahead of the game at the Etihad Stadium, the หรือถ้าคุณสนใจแทงบอลออนไลน์ UFABET คือเว็บที่มีอัตราต่อรองดีที่สุดในประเทศไทย สมัครเลยตอนนี้ที่ UFABET แทงบอล Sports pundit studio looked at the duel between Mbappe and Haaland, with Henry speaking to Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards as the only former striker on the pundit team.

Asked who was better between Haaland and Mbappe, Henry was upfront with them. “For me, Kylian is the better player. Let me explain it to you. He’s been trying to play as a centre-forward for about a year and a half. PSG tried him as a number nine but it didn’t work out that way. Now he’s doing that at Madrid, the biggest club in Europe. He has to adapt,” Henry said .

“Haaland, he’s been a centre-forward since the start of his career. We thought those two were the replacements for (Lionel) Messi and (Cristiano) Ronaldo, but now there are questions raised about their style, despite their excellent goalscoring record.” Carragher interjected, asking Henry: “Don’t you think they are the two best players in the world at the moment?” Henry replied :

“They are. Maybe not the top two, but definitely in the top group. Some people would argue Mbappe is better, some would say (Vinicius) Junior or (Lamine) Yamal is coming through. That’s what I meant. It’s not as obvious as we first thought.” Carragher then asked: “If you were a coach, who would you pick?” Henry went on to say:

“Mbappe, definitely! Because he’s got more options. He can play on the right wing, left wing and up front. What about Haaland? Can he play anywhere else besides being a centre-forward? “Ask yourself if you were a defender Who would you rather mark? Richards replied immediately: “I’d go with Haaland because he’s more predictable, he likes to make runs in behind, but Mbappe can go everywhere.” Carragher agreed.

“I’m the same way with Micah, if you were a coach and Haaland was scoring you 30 goals a season and he didn’t do anything else, would you be happy with that? Or would you try to get him to do something else?” Henry replied: “Being a perfectionist, I would think, ‘Okay, you’re scoring a lot of goals, but what can you do to improve?’ ”

“Scoring a lot of goals doesn’t always mean you’re playing well. It doesn’t mean you’re helping the team in the way you should. ” Sometimes your team-mates help you carry the game more than you think. That’s why I say players should improve themselves, not just be satisfied with what they’re doing.”
